How can visual design make sense of a constantly shifting world?
In this project, I created a series of 12 posters: each week, I picked a current social or political news story and turned it into a poster using any available technique or medium.
My goal was to show how design can transform fast, chaotic information into meaningful, emotional signals for society.

Each week started with research, followed by rapid ideation, composition, and choice of style: anything from bold typography to collage, paint, generative graphics, or digital manipulation. No visual or media restrictions: only the story, and how to make it hit.
I experimented with data overlays, color codes, aggressive contrasts, and unconventional forms to amplify urgency, empathy, and critical thinking.

Unheilige Weihnachten (Unholy Christmas)
This poster was created during Ukraine’s winter blackouts – a time when war made even basic safety and celebration impossible. I transformed Christmas symbols into sharp barriers and warning signs –blue and yellow as a code for national identity under siege.
The composition turns the visual language of festivity into a message about resilience and the cost of hope in crisis.

92% Zufrieden (92% Satisfied)
This poster reacts to the statistic that 92% of young people in Germany report being satisfied with life. I wanted to question if data really reflects how people feel and how can anyone be really “happy” when there’s so much war and chaos in the world? So I layered a forced red optimism over uneasy, distorted faces.
The clash between the bright numbers and anxious visuals asks: is this real contentment, or just a symptom of privilege – or even denial?

Across 12 weeks, the posters track the pulse of today’s top challenges: from inflation, digital privacy, and war, to climate crisis, political fragmentation, freedom, and gender rights.
Whether through shocking color, typographic violence, or media remixing, the series turns headlines into impact, so each image bridging news and raw emotion.
